Epilepsy Awareness Ltd strives to be the most informed
and effective epilepsy training provider in the UK.
We work at a national level to improve the lives of vulnerable
people with epilepsy.
Epilepsy Awareness was created in 1998 by Sally Gomersall who
developed epilepsy when she was fifteen months old. Despite
anti-epileptic drug treatment for her seizures, they remained
uncontrolled throughout her life until 1996, when she accessed the
optimal NHS treatment for her seizures.
Two years later Sally created the training consultancy Epilepsy
Awareness in order to improve the understanding of the epilepsies.
Besides designing and facilitating training courses about
epilepsy, Sally is involved in the epilepsy voluntary sector.
Since 2001 Sally has been a member of the Board of Governors at
Epilepsy Society and she is currently an
executive committee member of the Joint Epilepsy Council of the UK
and Ireland.
Nominated by the voluntary sector, Sally represented people with
epilepsy, families and carers within the National Institute for
Clinical Excellence (NICE) Epilepsy Guideline Development Group,
who developed and published the NHS best practice clinical
guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of the Epilepsies in
adults and children in 2004.
Sally is currently representing people with epilepsy, their
families and carers in the Epilepsies Update Guideline Development
Group, which will be published by NICE in 2011.

About Us
What our clients say...
"I have received very positive feedback from the staff who attended. It has certainly changed attitudes especially towards students who have epilepsy but do not have seizures at college. It has raised awareness about the different types of seizures and how it may impact on the students and their lives. The delivery and pace were just right."
